Communication

What is more important to you?
To say what needs to be said or to try to get another person to understand what it is that you are trying to say?
To express your point of view without a second thought as to how it may hurt others?
Think about it: When you simply fire your opinions at others, you are not taking into account that they will then become defensive or close down because you have hurt them. They simply stop listening to you and no longer understand what you are saying.
I keep on telling you that you have to be who you are, without deviations or concessions.
But in order to be your true self, you need to get others to understand you. That way you avoid creating misunderstanding, intolerance, and violence around you.
So this is the challenge: Be who you are with all your heart.
Next, use your mind to communicate this to others in a way that will help them to understand and accept you.
If they understand, great, for it will make it easier for you to be yourself.
If they still do not understand you, after all your efforts and diplomacy . . .
If they continue to wish you were different . . .
Then it is time to slam your fist down on the table and show them that you are not going to stop following the path that your soul lays before you each day.
